STOK-MATHO TREK

Overview

This trek starts from Stok village which is 17km southeast of Leh town of ladakh. The village is home to the 14th century Stok Monastery, with its 71 feet high seat Gautama Buddha statue, consider by Dalai Lama in 2016.   Stok kangri (6153metres) sit at the head of the stok water rivervalley. AS your trek is under Hemis national park so ther e is full of wildlife.The landscapes specially in this trek is magenificent,  you have to camp at 1st base camp of stok kangri, due to the close camp sites to the stoke kangri range there is outstanding view and beautiful landscapes. In this trek you have to camp close to the shepherds of matho and you can see their lifestyle and interact with them. There is only one pass in this trek . There is no village untill Matho.
